Sam Chouinard ?

Originally from Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu (Qc), I got hooked on dance when I was a teenager. When I decided I wanted to pursue a career with this passion I had for dance, I was on board for a surreal adventure. With a lot of work, determination, confidence in my own potential and limitless goals,  I finally got to meet my idols, make my dreams come true and bring my career far beyond where I would have ever imagined.

My journey

Since the beginning of my career, I had the extreme opportunity to travel across the world for my art and to get involve in a complete range of projects: Movies, musicals, variety shows, international competitions, publicities, TV shows, Olympics, and so on.

In 2014, as a choreographer I joined the renowned Ice Academy of Montréal (I.Am), where the biggest names in figure skating (representing more than 20 countries) would train : Virtue/Moir (CAN), Papadakis/Cizeron (FR), Chock/Bates (USA), Hubble/Donohue (USA), Hawayek/Baker (USA), to name a few. With our combined efforts, we revolutionized figure skating with the best scores ever recorded in history and won the gold and silver medal at the 2018 winter Olympics.  Thanks to this opportunity, I had the chance to choreograph several numbers for Stars on Ice, Art on Ice, Battle of the Blades and for the incredibly popular THANK YOU CANADA TOUR.

Also, with the 2021 Summer Olympics coming, I was asked to become the official choreographer for the Canadian Synchronized Swimming Team, as well as the Canadian Women’s National Gymnastics Team.

I achieved one of my biggest goal in life when I was chosen by Cirque du Soleil to become the official choreographer for the show Bazzar that took place in 2018 and travelled around the world. Following this worldwide success, I choreographed AXEL in 2019, the second on-ice production by Cirque du Soleil.

You can also catch my work on some popular Québécois shows, like: Révolution, La Fureur, le Gala des Gémeaux, and soon in Can you Hear me, streaming on Netflix. Besides that, I’m the official host of the biggest dance competition in Canada; HIT THE FLOOR, as well as the co-owner/Creator of one of the best escape rooms in Québec; SAUVE QUI PEUT!
